The Association for Conflict Resolution - Houston (ACR Houston) is a 501.c.3 organization dedicated to promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and conflict management, supporting and developing ADR professionals, and educating our community about the many uses and benefits of ADR.
Judge Frank Evans, commonly recognized as the “Father of ADR,” passed away on November 9, 2019. The Honorable Frank G. Evans was honored with a 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Conflict Resolution Houston Chapter, Texas Mediator Credentialing Association Outstanding Credentialed Mediator for 2016, and Texas Association of Mediators Susanne C. Adams Award in 2008.

‘Joe Edward Bontke, known lovingly as Pop to his grandchildren, and Santa every Christmas, passed away at his home in the early morning hours of October 9, 2019. () Joe was a lifelong champion of equal rights for the disabled, working extensively as an advocate for promoting the Americans with Disabilities Act. In 2002, Joe became the outreach coordinator and ombudsman for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), a position where he fought for equal pay for women, immigrant rights, diversity and inclusion in the workplace, race equity, LGBTQ rights, and civility for all.
