The Association for Conflict Resolution - Houston (ACR Houston) is a 501.c.3 organization dedicated to promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and conflict management, supporting and developing ADR professionals, and educating our community about the many uses and benefits of ADR.

The nominations committee would like to remind ACR Houston members that our bylaws indicate that nominations for office shall also be accepted from the floor at the time of election once the membership has reached twenty-five (25) in number.
ACR Houston members, at the Annual Meeting on February 28, 2021, will elect new directors to the ACRH Board.

Our ACR Houston Peer Mediation Team offers online peer mediation training, Our Peacebuilding Community, for elementary, middle and high school students. The interactive program is presented via the Zoom video conferencing platform.
ACR Houston has been notified by the FBI that the personal information of members and contacts has been breached through our website host and posted on public websites. We are taking aggressive action and working with the FBI to further protect our membership.
As a precautionary measure, please check your credit on the credit bureaus free sites and make sure that your financial and personal information has not been misused.

Conflict, like death and taxes, is inevitable, and the workplace is a breeding ground for disruptive conflict. First, consider that organizational culture consists of shared values, beliefs, assumptions, perceptions, and norms. Add to that the fact that organizations are complex coalitions of individuals, departments, and divisions—each competing for scarce resources, such as funding, access to those in power, and time. Stir in a little power imbalance and organizational political posturing. Shake all that together and you have a workplace that is bubbling over with conflicted people and situations.
