He possesses a real estate license and is well-versed in oil and gas issues. A fifth generation Texan whose great-great-grandfather fought in the Texas Revolution, Rick is a member of the Sons of the Republic of Texas and also has the honor of being a Kentucky Colonel. He was one of the original batboys for the Houston Colt .45s, the first major league baseball team in Houston, which was renamed the Houston Astros in 1965. Dr. Manousso is also a professor at the University of St.Thomas in Global Conflict Management. In addition, she is the Chair of the Education Research Training Section of the Association of Conflict Resolution International, president of the Houston Gerontological Society, and member of the UT Consortium on Aging. She is the past-president of the Association of Conflict Resolution Houston chapter and current board member. She has also served as the Chair of the ACR International Healthcare Section and International Conference Committee and has served as co-chair of the ACR Workplace section and on the ACR Training Standards Committee for Elder Care Mediation.
