Mahatma Gandhi Week 2020 Contests

Houston, TX


A project to create a higher awareness of the inspiring life and work of Mahatma Gandhi to promote universal values of Truth, Non-Violence, Love & Service.  The contests are open to all children in Greater Houston. The winners of these contests will be recognized at 1000 Lights for Peace on Sunday, October 18, 2020.

This is a terrific mediation model when divorce and child custody aren't your favorite clients, or if you like to help families. Lots of this work is done online, as well as in person.

The 2020 Peacebuilding Community Awards
October is Conflict Resolution Month!  To celebrate, the Dispute Resolution Center of Montgomery County, Inc. and the Association for Conflict Resolution Houston Peer Mediation Team are establishing the 2020 Peacebuilding Community Awards to recognize community members dedicated to peacebuilding in Harris or Montgomery County.  Nominations are due by October 16, 2020.

Nominees should excel in:
• Establishing/promoting local peace initiatives; or 
• Promoting peaceful conflicts resolution practices; or
• Peace training for any age group.

Honorees will be recognized from these categories:
K-12 
New Generation (18 – 25 years)
Community Member or Volunteer 
Organizations
