Spring Training is Here!
April 25, 2011
I hope you are having a very pleasant Spring and enjoying this delightful time of year!
Spring is a time of year when everything is in bloom, and all things seem to be made new once again. This time of year invites thoughtful reflection as we consider ways to foster self-renewal in many facets of our lives, both personal and professional. This Spring, ACRH has made efforts to support its members’ renewal, self-improvement, greater conscientious, and skill building so that we can be highly effective dispute resolution practitioners.
ACR Houston has been very focused on helping its Members become better practitioners by providing opportunities sharpen their conflict resolution skills. In March, ACRH Member Richard G. Myers, taught us how to develop a website to promote our businesses and enhance our internet marketing. In April, well renown international mediator Kenneth Cloke delivered a wonderful training to help us explore “the internal and external ‘frontiers’ of conflict resolution, to identify and explore techniques for dealing with mediations that fall apart disastrously and creating more opportunities for mediation to come together miraculously. During our ACRH Chapter Meeting Dinner, Cloke encouraged us to contemplate our responsibility as global citizens for the environmental, social, economic and political conflicts occurring around us. In May, ACRH President-Elect John Kenyon, will continue to challenge us by exploring how mediators navigate ethical complexities that arise during mediation.
As always, ACRH Members are urged to submit ideas and requests for ACRH programs to me, or any of our Board Members, and we will do our best to meet your professional skill building and networking needs.
Wishing you a fantastic Spring Training!
